This new addition to the Dining Table Collection is very well received.
The top is an elegant “D-End” oval which is a very versatile and social shape for a dinging table.
Durning the Georgian period, this end shape was very popular in grand houses decorated in the understated clean lines of the era.

Here, the table is finished in soft Light Grey Limed with a White Oak band running around the perimeter.

The surface has been hand-planed – “adzed” which a small-bladed hand tool to create a subtle “ripple” to the top. Before the advent of machines to plane, all tables were planed this way.
Then, the wood is lightly “brushed” to raise the grain so that it takes on the Liming process which gives it the beautiful soft white “highlights” to the grain.
